Young Ghanaian goalkeeper Abdul Manaf Nurudeen made his senior debut for KAS Eupen in a 1-1 draw game against Waasland-Beveren in the Belgium Jupiler league at the Kehrweg Stadium on Saturday evening.

Abdul Manaf joined the Belgian fold from Aspire Academy Senegal in July 2017. He has since then being with the club’s junior side but was promoted to the senior side at the start of the season.

The 22-year-old was handed a start by manager Nicky Hayen and didn’t let his manager down, he was excellent throughout the game as Eupen were held at home by struggling Waasland.

Michael Frey gave Waasland an early lead, Menno Koch scored in the last 10 minutes of the game to hand KAS Eupen a point.

Abdul Manaf Nurudeen was Ghana’s first choice goalkeeper at the 2019 U-20 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) held in Niger, where Ghana were knocked out in the group stage.

The youngster will hope this is the first start of many for him in Eupen’s colors.
