Aduana Stars striker Yahaya Mohammed has registered his disappointment over GFA’s decision to name Asante Kotoko and Ashanti Gold as Ghana’s representatives in the CAF champions league and Confederations cup respectively.
Following the outbreak of coronavirus, the GFA on Tuesday, June 30 announced that the current football season has been annulled.
The FA also announced that Asante Kotoko and Ashanti Gold will be Ghana’s representatives for CAF inter-club competitions next season.
However, the decision hasn’t gone down well with Yahya Mohammed as he’s left questioning whether the two clubs are ready to represent Ghana in Africa.
“I don’t have a problem with the 2 clubs that have been selected to represent Ghana in the Champions league and Confederation Cup. However, are these two clubs ready to go and lift the flag of Ghana high?” He quizzed.
“In fact at the moment no GPL club is ready for Africa. The FA would have to select the top 18 players in the GPL to represent Ghana in those competitions” he suggested on Angel 102.9FM.
He also added that Aduana and Medeama deserve the nod since they are the most prepared clubs in the country.
“Based on the preparation of clubs Aduana and Medeama should have the nod to represent Ghana. Those teams are very well prepared” he ended.
