Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori has captained South African giants Orlando Pirates to win the South Africa MTM 8 trophy after beating AmaZulu 1-0 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

Richard Ofori who was returning from an injury that has kept him out of his outfit’s last three games against Golden Arrows, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns was handed a starting role.
The Ghanaian shot stopper kept the post from danger as Monnapule Saleng scored the only goal of the game in the first half to win Orlando Pirates the South Africa MTM 8 trophy, the second Richard Ofori has won at the club since arriving in 2022 from Maritzburg United.
Speaking after the game, Richard Ofori described the feeling as a special one and dedicated the win to the fans.
“Special feeling and great win. This win is for the fans. They have supported us every moment along the way and time for us to dedicate this trophy to them,” – Richard Ofori the media after the game.
Richard Ofori is expected to represent Ghana at the upcoming World Cup to be played in Qatar. The 29-year old is part of a provisional 55-man squad announced by the Ghana FA on Friday.
