Manager of Dreams FC, Wilfred Dormon has explained why he didn’t start star man Joseph Esso in Sunday’s encounter against Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.
A brace from Michelle Sarpong and a goal from Kwadwo Obeng Jnr handed Hearts of Oak a resounding 3-0 victory against Dreams FC.
Coach Wilfred Dormon has however been blamed for the defeat. Joseph Esso who was expected to start the match against his former outfit was named on the substitute bench.
“Esso was not too well, he was nursing an injury and if he was that fit we would have started him,” Wilfred Dormon said.
“We all know what Esso can do, even a few moment he came into the game he looks very threatening but it’s unfortunate we go into a game like this and we couldn’t play your best players because of injury” he added.
When quizzed whether the defeat is going to affect the team, Wilfred Dormon stated that the defeat will bring the best out of his players.
“Well there is no big issue, the issue is that it is what it is. It’s a tough league. If you look around, the quality is evenly spread,” he said after the game.
“We haven’t hit (top form) yet. We haven’t got into our elements and I believe some of this defeat, would go a long way to bring the best in us.
“Some of these defeats teaches you that perhaps you have to dig deep,” Dormon concluded.
Dreams’ next game will be against Asante Kotoko in Dawu on Sunday.
