Medeama center back Daniel Egyin has spewed his opinion on Ghanaian players accepting a pay cut amidst the Coronavirus pandemic.
In recent days, there has been calls that local players need to emulate European players and accept pay cut in order to help lessen the financial burden on clubs during this time of inactivity and turbulence.
Well Medeama’s Daniel Egyin belongs to a different school of thought, the center back believes that footballers rather deserve an increment instead of a reduction in this difficult time.
“There is no need for footballers to accept pay cut in Ghana at this difficult moment, this is rather the time for the club owners to increase salaries for players,” he told Spice FM.
“The players are no more entitled to receiving wining bonuses due to the Covid-19, we are paying electricity bills now, it is not easy taken care of our family members at these difficult times,” he added.
