We can’t copy the Germans and do you think we are wiser than the French? – Alhaji Grusah questions GFA

Bank roller of Kumasi King Faisal, Alhaji Grusah has reiterated that the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season must be annulled.

Football in Ghana has been at a standstill since March 16 due to the ban on social gatherings by the government to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The future of the Ghana Premier League league and other leagues in the country remains up in the air, with the Ghana football Association (GFA) announcing last month that it’ll make a decision by June 30.

However, the hope of seeing football back might be hampered on Sunday, 31 May when the president of the country, Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo announced that the ban on social gathering has been extended to July 31.

Reacting to the news, the veteran football administrator reiterated that emulating the French Ligue 1 and cancelling the league is the best decison.

“Cancellation is the best option for us because we can’t copy that of the Germans and do you think we are wiser than the French and those who have annulled their leagues?,” Alhaji Grusah queried on Kumasi-based radio station Oyerepa FM.

“I agree with Nana Addo for extending ban on football activities, where are we rushing to play our league to, people will say I support cancellation because of my club’s position on the log but that’s not it, we need to prepare well so we can perform in Africa” he explained.
