Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah has defended his side’s poor form this season.
At the start of the season, Asante Kotoko who are holders of the betPawa Premier league title were expected to retain the league. Howbeit, they’ve failed to replicate the form that saw them achieve the feat.
With four games to end the season, the Porcupine Warriors have amassed 44 points, trailing leaders Aduana by 8 points.
In spite of that, CEO of the club, Nana Yaw Amponsah has assured the fans that the club will continue to fight for the title until the end but adds that fans must understand the team cannot win every year.
“We will continue to fight until the end. The bottom line is that we cannot win every year,” Nana Yaw Amponsah told Joy Sports.
“Hearts won the league two years ago, last season they were sixth. We won last year [but] this season we are struggling. That is the nature of sports. So for us, we will continue to fight till the end.”
The Porcupine Warriors are winless in their last 3 league games and have won only one of their last 6 games, a situation they’ll like to change in their next outing against already relegated Kotoku Royals.
