VIDEO: Zuberu Sharani scores to send Slovan Bratislava into the next round of UEFA Champions League qualifiers

Erstwhile Dreams FC attacker, Zuberu Sharani scored for Slovan Bratislava in the second leg of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League against Zrinjski Mostar, in the process sending the team to the next round of the qualifiers.

Slovan Bratislava were held at home by Zrinjski Mostar to stalemate 2-2 draw on Tuesday evening. However, they progressed to next round with a 3-2 aggregate scoreline.

Slovan Bratislava headed into Tuesday’s game with a slight advantage, having one the first leg 1-0, courtesy a second half goal scored by Zuberu Sharani.

The Slovakian giants improved their advantage when they went ahead after less than 5 minutes into the game through Aleksandr Cavric.

Zuberu Sharani doubled the lead in the 66th minute after he was set up by Aleksandr Cavric, controlling a beautiful pass from the edge of the box, before hammering the ball into the net.

Later in the game, Hrvoje Barisic and Antonio Ivancic scored to level the game for Zrinjski Mostar, 2-2. Nevertheless, that wasn’t enough as they bowed out 3-2 on aggregate.

Compatriot Malik Abubakari was also in action for Slovan Bratislava, coming on with just 3 minutes to end proceedings in normal time.

Slovan Bratislava will now come up against the winner of the match between Maccabi Haifa and Sheriff Tiraspol in the next round of the qualifiers.
