Ghanaian winger Osman Bukari continued his fine start to life in Serbia with a hat-trick for Red Star Belgrade in a 5-0 win against Armenian fold Pyunik Yerevan in the third round of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
Osman Bukari shot Red Star Belgrade into the lead in the 29th minute. The 23-year old demonstrated his blistering pace to go pass the defenders and the goalkeeper, before passing the ball into the net.
Four minutes later, Red Star doubled their lead through Zambian international Kings Kangwa. He guided a cross from Osman Bukari into the net.
In the 44th minute, Osman Bukari doubled his goal scoring tally, hammering a low shot into the bottom right corner.
Osman Bukari completed his hat-trick and made it 4-0 for his side in the 70th minute. Six minutes later, he was replaced by compatriot Ibrabim Mustapha.
Stefan Mitrovic rounded the win for Red Star with a well taken 5th in the 77th minute. The win gives Red Star Belgrade the advantage going into the second leg in Armenia next week.
Speaking after the game, Osman Bukari whose hat-trick was his 5th goal in 5 games since he joined the club said: “Beautiful atmosphere, I feel great playing in front of Red Star fans. I thank them for the applause and for chanting my name. I love them! They love me too, so we enjoy it,” he said as quoted by GhanaSoccernet.
Osman Bukari will hope to continue his fine form as he set sights on making Ghana’s squad for the 2022 World Cup to be played in Qatar later this year.
