Posted by Nicholas Mensah scored the only goal of the game to earn Kumasi Asante Kotoko a precious 1-0 win against Medeama at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa.
The opening minutes of the game was evenly contested but it was Asante Kotoko who had the first sniff at goal, Nicholas Mensah in the 22nd minute headed a decent free kick from Augustine Agyapong against the post.
Minutes later, Medeama were denied the opener by Mubarik Yussif. The defender cleared a goal bound effort from Derrick Fordjour on the line.
In the 59th minute, Asante Kotoko broke the deadlock, Nicholas Mensah showed tenacity and brilliance to go pass Fatawu Sulemana, before hammering the ball into the net.
Medeama in the remaining of the game pilled pressure on Asante Kotoko, but the Porcupine Warriors stayed resilient to win the game 1-0.
