Ghanaian youngster Mohammed Kudus scored and provided 2 assists as Ajax trash red hot Heerenveen 5-1 in the Dutch Erevidisie on Sunday afternoon at the Johan Cruijff Arena.

Kudus, who was missing in the club’s 1-0 defeat to Groningen before the international break due to an injury made a comeback and was handed a start by manager Erik ten Hag.

Ajax opened in the scoring in the 4th minute, Kudus laid a decent pass to Dusan Tadic in the 18 yard box. The Serbian international cut in and curled the ball past the goalkeeper.

Ajax doubled their lead in the 28th minute, Dusan Tadic after being fouled in the 18-yard box took the resulting penalty and scored.

Kudus made it 3-0 in the 35th minute, he received a pass from Ryan Gravenberch in the box, placed himself well and fired the ball past the goalkeeper.

Heerenveen reduced the deficit in the 66th minute through Henk Veerman, but any hope for a comeback was shattered by Davy Klaassen in the 72nd minute, he scored from the spot to make it 4-1.

Antony Santos rounded the game up in the 87th minute, he scored from a decent Mohammed Kudus layoff.

The game ended 5-1, Ajax return to winning ways after losing 1-0 to Groningen in their previous game.

Kudus was named man of the match. The burgeoning midfielder has now featured in 3 league games for Ajax this season, scoring once, providing 3 assists and winning the man of the match award on two occasions.

Ajax will next play 2019 UEFA Champions league winners Liverpool at the Johan Cruijff Arena on Wednesday in the Champions League.
