Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus paid tribute to compatriot Christian Atsu with a sublime free-kick for Ajax in a 4-0 win against Sparta Rotterdam at the Johan Cruijff Arena.

Ajax grabbed the opener in the 6th minute through Dusan Tadic, before Kenneth Taylor made it 2-0 in the 26th minute after he was set up by Tadic.

Dusan Tadic made it 3-0 in the 64th minute from a well taken penalty kick. In the 84th minute, Mohammed Kudus rounded the win for Ajax, hammering in a free-kick from the edge of the box.

The youngster dedicated his goal to compatriot Christian Atsu who was confirmed dead on Saturday morning after his body was found 12 days after he went missing following a devastating earthquake that struck some cities in Turkey and Syria last week.

The goal was Kudus’ international’s 15th goal of the season in all competitions for Ajax and 17th this season, including 2 goals for Ghana at the World Cup.
