Kudus Mohammed displayed yet another impressive performance as 10-man Ajax defeated Vitesse 2-1 at the Johan Cruijff Arena.
The 20-year-old who was handed his official Ajax debut against Waalwijk last weekend and scooped the man of the match award was handed a start by Erik ten Hag.
Ajax opened the scoring in the 21st minute, Quincy Promes finished off a decent pass from Noussair Mazraoui to make it 1-0.
The home side were in the 44th minute reduced to 10, Edson Alvarez was sent off by the referee after a lengthy VAR consultation for misconduct.
Vitesse pulled level in the 56th minute, Riechedly Bazoer the scorer.
The 10-man Ajax restored their lead in the 70th minute, Kudus Mohammed picked a pass from his own half, dashed into the opponent’s half and laid a good pass to Anthony, who scored beautifully to make it 2-1.
Vitesse pushed men forward in search for the equalizer, but to no avail, the game ended 2-1, with Kudus playing full throttle.
The youngster has been invited by C.K Akonnor for next month’s friendly encounter against Mali in Turkey.
