Ghanaian forward Kamal Sowah was on target for Club Brugge in a 2-0 win against Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in the 3rd Group B game of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League at the Jan Breydel Stadion in Brugge.
Sowah who scored his maiden Champions League goal in the 4-0 win against Porto in Portugal in the 2nd Group game was handed a starting role.
The 22-year embraced the task and opened the scoring in the 36th minute, tapping home from Ferran Jutglà’s cut back following some intricate one-two play from the pair.

Club Brugge extended their lead in the 62nd minute. Ferran Jutglà kept his composure and hammered the ball pass Oblak after he was set up by Tajon Buchanan.
Later in the game, Griezmann had a chance to pull a goal back for Atletico from a spot-kick but he missed his effort as Club Brugge won the game 2-0.
The win leaves Club Brugge top of Group B with 9 points from 3 goals.
For Kamal Sowah, his goal on the night was his 2nd in 3 appearances in the UEFA Champions League this season.
