Budding Ghanaian midfielder Kamal Sowah scored twice as Oud-Leuven defeated Gent 3-2 in the Belgian Jupilier League on Saturday evening.
The 20-year-old started the game and opened the scoring in the 41st minute with a well taken strike from the edge of the box.
Three minutes later, Mathieu Maertens scored to make it 2-0 for Oud-Leuven.
Just 3 minutes after the recess, Sowah scored his second of the day and his team’s 3rd, the youngster after receiving a decent pass dashed into the 18-yard-box and calmly beat the goalkeeper.
Gent scored two penalties in the space of three minutes through Niklas Dorsch and Tim Kleindienst to give the game a nerve ending finish, but Oud-Leuven held on for the three points.
The Leicester loanee was replaced by Olivier Myny in the 75th minutes. Compatriot Osman Bukari played full throttle for Gent.
Sowah was named man of the match. The youngster has so far made 7 appearances for Oud-Leuven this season, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists.
Oud-Leuven now sit 7th on the league log with 11 points from 7 games.
The youngster who recently signed a new contract with his parent club, Leicester will hope to add to his tally when they welcome Zulte Waregem to the Den Dreef Stadium on Saturday.
