Ghanaian center-back Joseph Aidoo scored late to earn Celta Vigo a point in a 1-1 draw against Getafe at the Estadio de Balaidos on Monday night.
Celta Vigo headed into the game hoping to end a-three match losing run. However those hopes were dumped when they found themselves a goal down in the 43rd minute, Enes Unal scored for Getafe from a brilliant free-kick.
Celta Vigo dominated most parts of the second half and were rewarded with the equalizing goal in the 89th minute. Joseph Aidoo leapt high to head in a good crossing from talisman Iago Aspas.
Joseph Aidoo’s goal which was first his La Liga goal in 87 appearances for Celta Vigo earned the team a crucial point, taking them two clear points off the relegation zone.
Aidoo has been included in Ghana’s provisional squad for the 2022 World Cup to be played in Qatar from next month.
The 27-year old is expected to be included in the final squad to be named on Monday, November 14, 2022.
