Ghanaian international Inaki Williams returned from the international break to help Athletic Bilbao beat Cadiz 3-0 at Estadio San Mames on Saturday afternoon.
After a goalless first 45 minutes which was largely dominated by Bilbao, they opened the scoring in the 66th minute through Gorka Guruzeta.
The home side doubled the lead in the 68th minute, Asier Villalibre scored with his first touch after coming from the bench. Inaki played a huge role in the goal.
In additional time, Inaki wrapped up the win by scoring the third. He raced past the visitors’ defense after collecting a fine pass from Asier Villalibre, before slotting the ball past the helpless goalkeeper.
Speaking after the game Williams said: “The team has been immense today and we have been very good so we deserved the three points.”
The win pushes Bilbao to third place on the league table with 10 points from 5 games, while for Inaki the goal was his second this season, appearing in all 5 games.
