Accra Hearts of Oak paid a courtesy visit to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Shaributu Imam at the National Mosque in Kawukudi for blessings ahead of the 2023/24 football season.
The Hearts of Oak team was made up of the playing body, the technical team, management members, board members and also the National Chapters Committee.
During the visit, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Shaributu Imam prayed for the team and wished them the very best throughout the season.
The move to visit the national Islamic leader forms part of the team’s spiritual preparation towards the 2023/24 football season which officially kicks off on Friday, September 15, 2023.
Hearts will continue the spiritual preparation on Saturday, September 2 with the Annual purification ceremony in Accra NewTown, before visiting the St. Mary’s Anglican Church on Sunday, September 3.

The Phobians are looking to bounce back from a torrid 2022/23 season which saw them fail to retain the MTN FA Cup and as well finish in 12th place on the league table, avoiding relegation on the final day of the season.
Hearts of Oak will begin the 2023/24 season against Real Tamale United (RTU) at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale.
