Former Ghana U-20 forward Prosper Kassim was on target for Birmingham Legion as they recorded a 1-0 victory against Atlanta United 2.
Prosper, who suffered an injury against Charleston Battery in July started for the first time since recovering.
Prosper scored the only goal of the game in the dying embers of the first half, he received a pass from Eli Crognale and made his way into the Atlanta United half before powered a low shot into the bottom right corner to score his first goal of the season.
The Ghanaian forward was subbed off in the 59th minute as his goal was the difference between the two sides.
Assistant manager Khano Smith after the game lauded the Ghanaian youngster for his stellar performance.
“Prosper is one of our more creative players and that’s something important that he brings, “coach Smith said after the game.
“He found a really good spot on his goal attacking through the middle third of the field. Eli [Crognale] found him in a really good spot, and he drove and took his space like he should. Prosper likes to shoot and luckily he has a good shot and it found the back of the net.”
Prosper has made four appearances for Birmingham Legion in the USL Championship this season. He has scored a goal and provided an assist.
