VIDEO: ‘COVID-19 survivor’ Joel Fameyeh bids farewell to Russian Premier league with a goal

Prolific Ghanaian striker Joel Fameyeh was on target for Orenburg in their final game of the season as the said goodbye to the Russian Premier league.

Orenburg defeated Dynamo Moscow 1-0, but the result wasn’t enough to keep them in the league as they were relegated in the previous gameweek when they lost to Champions Zenit St. Petersburg 4-1.

Joel Fameyeh grabbed the goal for Orenburg in the 29th minute, he connected with a beautiful cross from Andrey Malykh to score the only goal of the game.

The former Asokwa Deportivo striker after the resumption Russian Premier league contracted COVID-19, but he recovered to score two goals in the last three games of the season.

Fameyeh joined Orenburg from Belarusian side Dynamo Brest in the summer of 2019.

He has this season scored 7 goals in 23 league games for the Russian side, but his efforts wasn’t enough to keep Orenburg in the Russian top flight league as they finished bottom of the league table with 27 points and will play in the second tier (FNL) next season.
