Ghanaian midfielder Cletus Nombil scored his first goal in Israeli football as Hapoel Kfar Saba defeated Hapoel Afula 3-0 at the Levita Stadium.
Cletus, who joined Hapoel Kfar Saba on deadline day of the second transfer window of the ongoing season was handed a starting role and wasted no time to make an impact in the game.
He scored the game’s opener in the 26th minute, tapping a loose ball into the net from close range. The goal is his first goal for Hapoel Kfar Saba and his first goal since arriving in Israel in September 2020.
Hapoel Kfar Saba doubled their lead in the 81st minute through Yoni Stoyanov, before Daniel Schwartzbaum scored in the 87th minute to round the game off.
The 3-0 result sends Hapoel Kfar Saba up to 3rd place on the Israeli National league table with 40 points from 25 games, a point behind leaders Maccabi Bney Reine.
Hapoel Kfar Saba will return to action on Friday against Hapoel Raanana and Cletus Nombil will hope he continues his fine form.
