VIDEO: CAF celebrates legendary Asamoah Gyan for his incredible goal scoring feat

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has celebrated legendary Asamoah Gyan for his incredible goal scoring feat.

Asamoah Gyan is Ghana’s all time scorer with 51 goals in 109 appearances. The first of the 51 goals came on his international debut in November 2003 at the age of 17 against Somalia, making him the youngest ever player to score for Ghana.

Gyan is also Ghana and Africa’s top scorer at the World Cup with six goals. He’s also Ghana’s second top scorer at the African Cup of Nation (AFCON) with eight goals, just a goal behind AndrΓ© Ayew.

To celebrate this incredible feat, CAF took to it official Twitter page and shared a video of all eight goals scored by Asamoah Gyan at AFCON tournaments with the caption “πŸ‡¬πŸ‡­πŸš€ 𝔹𝔸𝔹𝕐 𝕁𝔼𝕋 πŸš€πŸ‡¬πŸ‡­ @ghanafaofficial’π–˜ @ASAMOAH_GYAN3, π–œπ–Žπ–Ÿπ–†π–—π–‰π–—π–ž π–‹π–”π–—π–Šπ–›π–Šπ–— π–‘π–Šπ–Œπ–Šπ–“π–‰π–†π–—π–ž. #WednesdayWizards. ”

The first of Gyan’s Eight AFCON goals came against Guinea in the 2008 AFCON staged in Ghana.

He scored three times in the 2010 AFCON staged in Angola, which is 75% of the goals scored by Ghana at the tourney. The goals came against Ivory Coast, Angola and Nigeria.

Gyan scored a goal each in the 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017 editions of the AFCON. With two of those goals coming against Mali in 2012 and 2017. Niger in 2013 and Algeria in 2015.
