Ghana’s 100ms sprinters Benjamin Azamati and Sean Sarfo-Antwi have cruised into the semifinal of the men’s 100m at the ongoing Commonwealth games in Birmingham.
Benjamin Azamati finished first in heat 7. The 24-year old had a slow start to the race but a pulsating finish saw him finish first in the heat in a time of 10.19s.
Sean Sarfo-Antwi also finished 4th in heat 10 in a time of 10.33s. In spite of that, he secured a place in the final as one of the best 7 finishes outside the top two automatic qualification places.
The two will contest in the semifinal scheduled for 18:10 GMT at the Alexander Stadium. Details of the race will later be confirmed.
