Vice President of Dreams FC Prince Abdul Hamid confirms readiness for Africa despite challenges, confirms Dreamz Ladies as official female team

Vice President of Dreams Football Club, Prince Abdul Hamid has divulged that his outfit is ready to participate in the 2023/24 CAF Confederations Cup despite facing financial challenges.

Dreams FC secured a ticket to represent Ghana in the next CAF Confederations Cup after beating King Faisal 2-0 at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Complex in Abrankese to win the MTN FA Cup.

In interview with Asempa FM, Vice President of the Dawu-based side revealed that participating in Africa his challenging. However, his club is ready.

“We don’t have any money set aside for Africa, because going to Africa is not joke but we have qualified and Dreams FC is ready to go to Africa,” Prince Hamid told Enoch Worlanyo Wallace on Asempa FM.

“We set up two committees which started working the moment we qualified. The first committee is to take charge of the financial aspect of playing in CAF Confederations cup. What it means is that we have to come together and search for where we can have the opportunity to participate and represent Ghana.

“For instance if we draw a team in North Africa, Wallace we both know going there won’t be easy, not only the football aspect but the financial. Dreams FC is ready and want to compete,” he added.

Prince Abdul Hamid also revealed that is outfit has reached an agreement to adopt Kumasi-based Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League side, Dreamz Ladies at its female team, this forms part of CAF’s Club Licensing Regulations.

The development which is part of CAF’s growing effort of developing female football will be made official by the club in the coming days.
