Venomous Vipers and Wa Power SC secure promotion to the 2023/24 Access Bank Division One League

Former betPawa Premier League side Venomous Vipers and Wa Power Sporting Club (SC) have secured promotion to the 2023/24 Access Bank Division One League.

Vipers, a veteran of the Ghanaian game secured promotion to the Division One League as winners of the Central Regional Division Two Middle League.

The Cape Coast based side went through the entire season unbeaten, winning 13 of their 14 games in the regular season and drawing the other one.

In the group stages of the middle league, Vipers defeated Krodua All Stars 3-1, Bright Stars 3-1 and Apam City 2-0. The former Premier League side went on to beat Winneba United 2-0 in the semifinal and Young Red Bull FC 1-0 in the final.

Venomous Vipers will compete in Zone Two of the Division One League, where they’ll renew their rivalry with Ebusua Dwarfs.

Wa Power SC also secured a place in the 2023/24 Access Bank Division One League as winners of the Upper West Region Division Two middle league.

Just like Vipers, Wa Power SC secured the feat in a remarkable fashion, going the entire campaign without suffering a defeat. The Duori based side won 16 of the 19 games played in both the regular league and the middle league, winning all 5 middle league games.

Wa Power SC in the middle league thumped Wa FC, Hilla Stars, Eva Stars, Wa United and Golden FC in an all play all affair to secure promotion.

Power SC won the final game of the middle league in a dramatic fashion, scoring late to win 2-1 against Golden FC who headed into the final game with 4 wins from the first 4 playoff games.

Wa Suntaa will compete in Zone One of next season’s Access Bank Division League.
