West African Football Academy (WAFA) has been rated as the most valuable football club in Ghana.
The rating was done by famous sports Journalist Saddick Adams, popularly known as Sports Obama and his Angel FM crew.
The metric for the ranking was based on the value of the playing body (squad value) and assets provided to Angel FM and registered in the club’s name. This includes; training pitches, stadiums, club buses, club houses, secretariat etc. The location of the assets was also vital in the valuation of the assets.
Some of the clubs also couldn’t provide the necessary information for the valuation.
After the valuation of all assets and squad, WAFA were rated as the most valuable club as they have a squad value of $1.75m and can as well boast of a stadium, training pitch for the senior side and all juvenile sides, club house, swimming pool etc.
Ashanti Gold were rated second as they are one of the few clubs that can boast of a stadium of their own. Paa Kwesi Ndoum’s Elmina Sharks were rated third. Moneybags Legon Cities occupied 4th position, owning the most expensive bus in the league.
