Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Hearts of Oak, Kwame Opare Addo has revealed that former skipper of the club Thomas Abbey and some players fought to keep their jerseys after the club’s 3-1 defeat to bitter rivals Asante Kotoko in the FA Cup final in 2017.

This comes in after Thomas Abbey has made a damming revelation about the club. Abbey disclosed that they lost the FA Cup final in 2017 because they had gone 3 months without salary and winning bonuses for seven games were also not paid.

However, management of the club has refuted those incriminating claims.

“After the game then team captain Thomas Abbey and some players were fighting us to keep their jerseys,’ Kwame Opare Addo told Angel 102.9 FM in Accra.

“Their reason is that since their contract with the club has expired they want to keep the jerseys”, he added.

Some former players of the club have also refuted the claims made by Thomas Abbey.
