The 2022/23 betPawa Ghana Premier League officially kicks off on the weekend of 9th to the 12th September 2022.
The fixtures for the season were released on Thursday. Asante Kotoko begin their title defense at home against new boys Nsoatreman, Hearts of Oak travel away to face Aduana, Legon Cities host Medeama and so on.
The fixtures wasn’t to be without derbies, talking of the Super Two, the Ga Mashie derby and many other other regional derbies. Below are all the derbies to look out for:
Super Two: The biggest derby in the country and amongst the biggest in the world. The first leg of this season’s edition will be staged at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Match Day 3 and the second leg in Accra in Match Day 32.

Ga Mashie Derby: Two City rivals clash to determine the real owners of Ga Mashie. Hearts of Oak will first host their rivals in week two, before trekking for the return encounter on the penultimate round of the season.

Kumasi Derby: Another derby that has always made the headlines for so many reasons. King Faisal will first host their city rivals in Match Day 4, with the second clash scheduled for Match Day 30.

Tamale Derby: For the first time, the Ghana Premier League will witness the Tamale derby between Real Tamale United (RTU) and Tamale City. The first clash between the two City rivals comes off at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Match Day 4 and the second on Match Day 30.

Eastern Derby: Following the qualification of Akyem Oda Kotoku Royals, there is one to anticipate in the Eastern Region. The Eastern derby between Kotoku Royals and Dreams FC is fixed for Match Day Two and Match Day 32.

Accra Derbies: Accra Hearts of Oak, Accra Great Olympics, Legon Cities and Accra Lions will all compete in the Premier League. The situation presents us with a lot of derbies to look up to.

Western Derbies: Samartex 1996 joined Bibiani Gold Stars, Medeama and Karela United in the Premier League, setting us up for a number of derbies from the region.

The Brong Ahafo Region will boast of as many as four Premier League clubs in the elite Division. Two former Champions Aduana FC and Berekum Chelsea, Bechem United and newly promoted Nsoatreman FC to contend with.
