Techiman Liberty have secured promotion to the Access Bank Division One League as winners of the Brong Ahafo Region Football Association (BARFA) Division Two middle league.
Liberty secured promotion to the Division One League after emerging winners of their protest case against Nsuatre FC.
Techiman Liberty faced Nsuatre FC in the final of the BARFA Division Two middle league on Thursday, June 29 at the Debibi Presby Park.
The game ended in the 83rd minute when Liberty were awarded a penalty. Nsuatre were unhappy with the decision, hence walked off the field to register their displeasure.
In a video sighted by MahamaShaibu.com, the referees for the game could be seen running away from an angry crowd, a situation which brought the game to a halt.
At the time when the incident happened, the game was level at 2-2.
Techiman Liberty after the game filed a protest against Nsuatre for bringing an abrupt end to the match. BARFA’s Disciplinary Committee after watching video evidences and reading the report of the Referee and Match Commissioner declared Liberty winners.
The decision means Techiman Liberty will feature in the 2023/24 Division One League, where they’ll compete in Zone One.
