Swansea City are left sweating over the fitness of talisman Andre Ayew.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Sunday announced that the Swansea forward is ruled out of Tuesday’s African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sudan in Omdurman.
Ayew, who scored two splendid goals to inspire Ghana to a 2-0 victory on Thursday against the Falcons suffered a muscle strain at the team’s training session on Saturday, ruling him out of Tuesday’s encounter.
The 30-year-old has now returned to Wales and will undergo further tests to assess the extent of the injury.
Swansea manager Steve Cooper will hope the injury isn’t as bad as first thought and Ayew would be fit for Saturday’s home game against Rotherham United.
