Hearts of Oak midfielder Suraj Seidu has been called to the Black Galaxies camp in Cairo, Egypt for the 2022 Championship of African Nations (CHAN), a report from GhanaSoccernet has disclosed.

The local national team is currently in Cairo wrapping up preparations for the CHAN to take place in Algeria from Friday, January 13 to Saturday, February 4, 2023.

Suraj Seidu was part of a 40-man provisional squad invited to camp last month at the Ghanaman Soccer Center in Prampram. However, he was left out of the final 25-man team that left Ghana to Cairo on Saturday, December 24, a situation which was a surprise to many.

In the latest development, the youngster has been called back to the team and has joined the rest of the squad in Cairo.

Suraj Seidu was instrumental in Ghana’s qualification to the CHAN, scoring in the 3-0 win against Benin and 2-0 win against Nigeria in Cape Coast.

The Hearts of Oak midfielder is expected to play a vital role for Ghana in their quest of winning the championship for the first time.

Ghana is drawn in Group C of this year’s edition alongside Morocco, Sudan and Madagascar.
