Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has shared his expectation on the Thomas Partey transfer saga.

The Spanish journalist believes that Thomas Partey could be on a move to England this summer after stalling over his new Atletico Madrid contract.

Thomas Partey has been on the wanted list of most European clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

The combative midfielder who has so far had a fine season and has been indisputable in Diego Simeone’s team is on the wanted list of Arsenal, Manchester United, Roma, PSG and Inter Milan.

The 26 year old has a contract that ends in 2023. He also has a €50million (£43.5m) release clause in his contract, one which appeals to a lot of suitors.

Reports from last month indicates that Atletico Madrid have offered the Ghanaian international a new deal, one which will double his release clause €100m (£87m), see him earn significantly and also hope will fend off bids from suitors, but Partey is yet to make commitment.

Balague on his YouTube channel opened up on the midfielder’s situation at Atletico, and Arsenal’s chances of making a move on the player in the summer transfer window.

“What I am hearing, he has a buyout clause of €50m, and Atletico would like him to sign a new contract,” Balague said.

“But he is not signing a new contract, that is as much as I can tell you.”

“Has there been contact? There was a very clear possibility of him moving to England last summer. Spurs, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal all enquired. That is as much as we can say.”

Partey last month resumed training with Atlético Madrid, where football is expected to resume on June 11.
