English club Southampton is expected to announce the arrival of Ghanaian center back Mohammed Salisu from Real Valladolid.
The burgeoning center back will sign a four-year contract after the Saints met his release clause of £10.9 million.
According to reports, Salisu will earn around £35,000.00 per week with Southampton.
Salisu Mohammed has been one of the outstanding performers in La Liga this season.
The young center-back who was sparingly being used in preseason earned his La Liga debut on the first day of the 2019/20 La Liga season, replacing the outstanding Fernando Calero who had departed and joined Espanyol in the summer.
Salisu in no time sealed a place in the first team, he made 31 La Liga appearances this season, starting 30 of those games and coming from the bench in just a game. He in the process scored a goal and made an assist.
The Ghanaian international will be Southampton’s first summer signing, he is expected to improve the Saint defense that has conceded 59 league goals in 37 games this season.
