Posted by Skyy FC defeated Tema Youth SC 7-6 on penalties shootouts after a 1-1 draw game to emerge winners of the maiden edition of the Division One League Super Cup.
Skyy FC after a decent start to the game broke the deadlock in the 15th minute through a header from Ebenezer Mamatah.
Tema Youth stepped their game up and found the equalizing goal in the dying embers of the first half, Emmanuel Owusu headed in a free kick to level the score, his 4th goal of the tournament.
Both teams in the second half had the chances to steal the lead but they were let down by poor finishing and goalkeeping heroics as the game went into Extra-time.
The 30 minutes of Extra-time saw no goals and penalties was needed to separate the two sides. Skyy FC won the shootout 7-6 to emerge winners of the maiden edition of the Division One League Super Cup.
Meanwhile, Premier League new boys Accra Lions earlier in the day secured 3rd place after beating Samartex 1996 3-1.
Accra Lions grabbed their goals through Christopher Acheampong and a brilliant brace from Fatawu Hamidu. Ibrahim Giyasu grabbed the consolation goal for Samartex.
