“The AFCON is full of surprises, but we know the usual best teams like the hosts, Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, Ghana, Algeria and Cameroon,” he said, as quoted by Joueurs Cameroonais.

Meanwhile, Algeria, Morocco and Nigeria have secured their place at the AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire, while Cameroon and Ghana are yet to secure qualification.

Ghana after five rounds of qualifying games sit top of Group E and will need a win or draw in their final game against the Central African Republic in September to seal a place at the tournament.

The AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire was initially scheduled to be played in June this year but was postponed to January next year due to the weather conditions in the hosting country.

Ghana who are four-time winners of the AFCON struggled to impress at the last edition, bowing out in the group stages. The Black Stars last won the AFCON trophy in 1982.
