Head Coach of Hearts of Oak Samuel Boadu has explained why center forward Kofi Kordzi wasn’t handed a starting role in Sunday’s scoreless game against Asante Kotoko.

Kofi Kordzi who’s currently Hearts of Oak’s top scorer in the league with 7 goals was expected to start Sunday’s game against Asante Kotoko. However, he started the game from the bench and was introduced into the game in the 76th minute.

Explaining the decision, Boadu said: “It depends on the training not that he scores a goal in a match every day, that doesn’t mean I should put him in. What we rehearse at the training will give you the chance.

“I see it like those starting are ahead of him,” Boadu told press after the game.

The scoreless draw leaves Hearts of Oak in 7th place with 25 points after the first round. The Phobians will commence the second round with an away game against Legon Cities at the El-Wak Stadium on Saturday.
