The much anticipated outstanding gameweek 7 Premier League clash between old foes Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko ended in a pulsating stalemate.

The game wasn’t short of excitement as both sides created good chances to win the game, but the goalkeepers and defenses of the two sides were on top of their game as it finished scoreless.

The aftermath of the game saw the managers of the two sides have a go at each other. Speaking to the press, head coach of Asante Kotoko, Prosper Narteh Ogum stated that the display from Hearts of Oak was their best all season.

“What I’ll say is that because of the way we are playing better, it gave our opponents that information that they have to step up their game. And I’m sure you can all attest to the fact that they’ve never played this well before in the league, I stand for correction. I mean with all due respect to them, I respect Hearts of Oak,” Prosper Narteh Ogum said.

Replying to the comment which didn’t go down well with Samuel Boadu, he said: “This was not one of our best games, our best game of the first round was against Legon Cities, if we had used our junior team (Auroras) against them today, Kotoko can still not score us”.

The draw means Asante Kotoko remain top of the table with 37 points after the first round, whiles Hearts of Oak now lie in 7th place with 25 points.
