Topflight club football in Ghana will resume later this month after a month hiatus.
The topflight Ghana leagues which include the betPawa Premier League, Access Division One League and the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League have been on a break since Sunday, November 18 due to the 2022 World Cup which is currently ongoing in Qatar and is expected to end on Sunday, December 18.
The 2022/23 betPawa Premier League season which went on a break after eight round of matches will resume on Monday, December 19 and will run till Monday, June 12, 2023.
Aduana FC were on top of the table with 16 points when the league went on a break. Accra Lions sit in second place with 15 points, Asante Kotoko and Accra Great Olympics sit in third and fourth place respectively with 14 points, while Accra Hearts of Oak occupy the 5th spot with 13 points.
The bottom three is occupied by Dreams FC, Tamale City FC and Akyem Oda Kotoku Royals.

The Division One League which was also halted after gameweek 8 will resume on Friday, December 30, 2022 and it’s expected to run till Monday, June 5, 2023.
Before the league was halted, Debibi United FC, Bofoakwa Tano FC, Nations FC and Heart of Lions FC were leading the league logs in their respective zones.

The Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League will also resume on Friday, January 27, 2023, with the gameweek 8 fixtures taking place across the two zones.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies and Hasaacas Ladies were top of their groups when the league was halted.

Meanwhile, the Round of 64 of the 2022/23 MTN FA Cup will be played during the Christmas festive season.
The round which will see the 18 Premier League clubs battle with 36 other clubs from the Division One and Division Two League will be played from Thursday, December 22 – Tuesday, December 27.
The women’s FA cup will also bounce back after the Christmas break for the round of 64 matches scheduled to be played from Friday, January 13 to Monday, January 23, 2022.
