REPORTS: Samuel Inkoom to make Kotoko comeback after a decade away

Black Stars defender Samuel Inkoom is set to make a sensational return to Asante Kotoko after 10 years.

According to reports from Light FM, Asante Kotoko are currently in talks with the 31-year-old over a possible acquisition for the 2020/21 football season.

Inkoom, who joined FC Samtredia in February on a six-months deal with an option of extension has failed to live up to expectations at the Georgian fold and has recently been demoted to the bench.

Howbeit, Kotoko, who are currently in the market in search for a back up for Christopher Nortey after partying ways with Augustine Sefah will embrace the opportunity of signing Samuel Inkoom who featured for the club in the 2008/09 season and was part of the team that won the league.

Inkoom’s arrival will attract fans to the stadium and will also boost the club’s backline with his vast experience after spending a decade in Europe.

The 31-year-old has previously played for Hasaacas, FC Basel, Dnipro, Bastia, DC United, Boavista FC, Antalyaspor, Vereya and Dunav Ruse.

Inkoom has made 46 appearances for the Black Stars and has represented the team at numerous major tournaments, including the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.

He was a member of the Black Satellites team that won the 2009 FIFA U20 World Cup held in Egypt.
