REPORTS: Kumasi Asante Kotoko on the verge of selling talisman Franck Etouga Mbella

Kumasi Asante Kotoko is reportedly on the verge of selling striker Franck Etouga Thierry Mbella to Egyptian fold Al Masry.

Following Franck Etouga’s sublime display in the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League which saw him score 21 goals and provide 3 assists in 30 league matches, the Cameroonian international has become a target for a plethora of clubs, including Seria A fold Udinese Calcio.

In June this year, agent of Franck Etouga, Amadou Tigana revealed that the Sporting Director of Udinese, Pierpaolo Marino was going to be present at the Accra Sports Stadium to watch his client in Asante Kotoko’s final game of the previous season against Accra Lions.

Despite the revelation and the heavy links throughout the summer window, the move failed to materialize.

Reports coming in now stipulates that Asante Kotoko is in advance negotiations with Egyptian top-flight side Al Masry to sell Franck Etouga in a lucrative deal.

If the reports are to be believed, the move is expected to be finalized in the coming days.

Etouga is currently nursing an injury and was not part of the Asante Kotoko team that defeated Burkina Faso Champions RC Kadiogo 1-0 in the first leg of the Preliminary round of the 2022/23 CAF Champions League at the Stade de l’Amitié Général Mathieu Kérékou in Benin on Monday.
