Reports coming indicates that former Accra Hearts of Oak striker Joseph Esso is close to sealing a move to Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
The forward was one of five players who were released by the club earlier this month after failing to renewal their contracts, a decision that didn’t go down well with most fans of the club.
Efforts by the fans to get the player to resign for the club were futile. It was reported that the officials of the club demanded an apology from the player before he is allowed to re-sign. Esso was officially released by Hearts of Oak on Monday.
According to reports gathered by Kumasi based radio station, Fox FM, Esso had a meeting with the board of Asante Kotoko on Thursday in Accra to discuss his personal terms with the club.
Further reports indicate that it is only a matter of days when the move becomes official.
The player is also linked with a move to Ashanti Gold to play with his senior brother Eric Esso.
In December last year, Esso was linked with a move to Sudan to play for Sudanese giants, Al-Hilal. Esso’s next move is surely one to keep an eye on.
