REPORTS: Blacks Stars “B” manager Ibrahim Tanko to be named as new Hearts of Oak manager

Accra Hearts of Oak are set to announce Black Stars “B” manager Ibrahim Tanko as new manager ahead of the 2020/21 football season, according to media reports.

Hearts of Oak last week parted ways with Portuguese gaffer Carlos Pinto after failing to reach agreement.

Despite expressing confidence in coach Edward Odoom publicly, Hearts of Oak are said to be in the market looking for a more experienced manager as they hope to end their 11 years trophyless drought.

According to media reports, the Phobians have identified former Black Meteors manager Ibrahim Tanko as the man to lead the club glory.

Ibrahim Tanko recently divulged that he’s open to managing any local side at the right offer.

“Why Not? I’m always available for any club that comes in with a good offer. It could be any time soon, either today or tomorrow,” he told OTEC FM.

“My job is coaching so as long as am here, I’m ready and willing for any club who can meet my demand” He added.

If the reports are to be believed, Ibrahim Tanko will announced as new Hearts of Oak manager in the coming days and will be assisted by Edward Nii Odoom.

Ibrahim Tanko has previously served as assistant manager at SC Freiburg, Urawa Red Diamonds, FC Koln, Cameroon and Ghana national team.

He is currently the head coach of Black Stars B and was the manager of Black Meteors at the U-23 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament held in Egypt last year.
