REPORTS: Asante Kotoko expected to soon make a hat trick of announcement

Reports coming in from credible media outlets indicates that Asante Kotoko is soon expected to make a hat trick of announcement (new CEO, PRO, new kit manufacturer).

After an administrative reshuffle, the Porcupine Warriors earlier this month announced the end of George Amoako’s tenure as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the club.

Since then, the Porcupine warriors have been on the hunt for a new CEO as the club hopes to look into a new direction. As the club aims at winning trophies again and doing well in Africa like the club previously did in the 70’s and 80’s.

According to reports, the search of a new CEO will soon come to an end as the club as identified the owner and President of Division One League club Phar Rangers FC, Nana Yaw Amponsah as the perfect candidate for the job.

The 36-year-old football administrator is believed to have won the hearts of the newly constituted Asante Kotoko board.

Nana Yaw Amponsah has already been tipped by New Edubiase FC boss, Abdul Salam Yakubu as the right person to fill the vacant position.

The Phar Rangers owner is believed to have already presented his plans to the club’s board of directors, he’s expected to be present at the club’s board meeting today in Accra.

Further reports indicates that astute sports journalist, Dan Kweku Yeboah is set to be named as the new Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Asante Kotoko.

The newly constituted Asante Kotoko board has identified the former spokesperson for the Normalization Committee and the head of sports of Peace FM as the man with the brain to head the club’s Communications Department.

With over 20 years experience in the media industry and having played a vital role in the development of football in Ghana, Dan Kweku Yeboah is believed to be the right man to be the “mouthpiece” of the Porcupine warriors.

Asante Kotoko is also set to announce English Sportswear company Umbro as the club’s new kit sponsors.

Kotoko in 2018 signed a 3 year deal with Portuguese kit manufacturing company, Strike, but according to reports, the Porcupine warriors have decided to terminate the contract. With the reason behind the termination yet to be revealed.

If all reports together with the announcement of a new PRO and CEO are to be believed, Asante Kotoko is also expected to sign a bumper kit sponsorship deal with Umbro and become the second club in Ghana to partner with the company after rivals Hearts of Oak.
