Black Stars skipper Andre Ayew is edging closer to signing for English Premier League side Everton, according to a report from French news tabloid L’équipe.

Per the reports, Ayew has held positive negotiations with the Toffees and there’s hope that an agreement will be reached between the two parties before the close of the transfer window.

The 33-year has been without a club since the mutual termination of his contract with Qatari side Al-Sadd, where he spent 18 months and scored 22 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions.

Since leaving Al-Sadd few days ago, Ayew has become a target for most clubs in Europe and the newest report indicates he’s in advanced negotiations with Everton.

Should a deal be agreed between the two parties, Ayew will be making a return to the Premier League and Everton will be hoping he brings his rich experience to bare as they set sights on avoiding relegation.

The forward played in the English topflight League with West Ham and Swansea from 2015 to 2019. He made 89 appearances, scored 21 goals and provided 9 assists for the two clubs.
