Asante Kotoko forward Frank Mbella Etouga has been invited to the Cameroonian national team for the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers next month.
Etouga’s invitation to the national team for games against Kenya and Burundi on June 4 and June 8 respectively was confirmed in a letter sent to Asante Kotoko by the Cameroonian Football Federation.
“Within the framework of the qualification matches for AFCON 2023, Ivory Coast, Cameroon’s national team will play official matches during the FIFA break starting from May 30 to Jun 14, 2022. June 4, Cameroon vs Kenya. June 8, Burundi vs Cameroon,” a letter sent to Asante Kotoko read.
“In this perspective, a preparatory training camp will be held in the aforementioned break from May 30th to June 14.
“In view of the above, we hereby inform you that you have been invited to take part in the said meeting,” the letter added.
Frank Etouga joined Asante Kotoko at the start of the ongoing season from Cameroonian fold AS Fortuna. The 20-year has been in fine form since for the Porcupine Warriors, scoring 19 goals in 28 games, the most this season.
Frank Etouga’s form has made him a transfer target for a number of European clubs.
