Burkina Faso outfit Racing Club (RC) Kadiogo have kicked Ghana Premier League holders Asante Kotoko out of the 2022/23 CAF Champions league after beating them 1-0 on the day and 3-1 on penalty shootouts.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko came into the game with the slight advantage after winning the first leg 1-0 away from home. However, that advantage was lost in the 16th minute when Kadiogo against the odds broke the deadlock through a Dramane Kambou free-kick.
The Porcupine Warriors in the remaining minutes of the game saw more of the ball but failed to breach the Kadiogo backline as the game ended 1-0 and 1-1 on aggregate.
The game went straight into penalty shootouts and Kadiogo emerged winners by 3-1. Sarfo Taylor, Nana Osei Bonsu and Enoch Morrison all missed their kicks.
