Reading and Black Stars defender Baba Rahman has donated learning materials to some selected basic schools in Tamale.

The Iterms donated by Baba Rahman included 9000 customized exercise books, pencils and pens. Some of the schools also received Jerseys, bibs and footballs in addition to the learning materials.

The donations which was done on behalf of the Reading defender by his elder brother, Alhaji Sulemana Baba was benefited by five Schools named; Anabariya Primary, Fathul Mubeen, Yong Dakpema Primary, Kogni Basic School and Our Lady of Fatima Primary.

The purpose of the donation is improve the life of the kids and also to ease the financial burden on parents in providing learning materials for their children.
“We thank Baba Rahman very much, the books can help us study very well. Some of us didn’t have that books but Baba Rahman brought them to us, we thank him very much,” said one of the students during the donation.

This latest gesture adds to the long list of charity works and donations made by Baba Rahman, especially to northern football.

Last year, Baba Rahman donated jerseys, football hose, footballs and a colossal amount of money to his boyhood club Young Meteors, a colts team based in Tamale.
In the year before, he presented football jerseys, over 500 footballs, 600 pips and other football equipments worth thousands of Ghana cedis to support Juvenile football and Women’s football in the region.
He also donated 50 footballs, 50 Bibs, 50 cones and other football items worth over GH₵ 12,000 to Real Tamale United (RTU) following their qualification to the Premier League.
Baba Rahman is currently on loan from Chelsea at Reading, where he has featured in 16 league games and hoping to qualify the team to the topflight league by the end of the season.
