Ghana’s senior women’s national team, the Black Queens defeated their Guinean counterparts 4-0 in Accra and 7-0 on aggregate to progress to the second round of the qualifiers of the Paris 2024 Olympics Games.
Head coach of the team, Nora Häuptle made a single change to the team that won the first leg 3-0 in Conakry on Friday. Substantive captain, Portia Boakye came in for Achia Anasthesia.

Ghana after dominating the opening minutes of the game and missing numerous chances went ahead in the 36th minute through an individual brilliance from Evelyn Badu.
Head coach, Nora Häuptle was forced into making a change at the start of the second half. Firdaus Yakubu came on for the injured Doris Boaduwaa.
The Black Queens doubled their lead in the 52nd minute, Evelyn Badu teed up Priscilla Adubea to score from close range, finishing off a good team move.
Ghana continued to mount pressure on their opponents and extended their lead in the 59th minute, Evelyn Badu reacted the quickest to tap in a rebound after a save by the goalkeeper.
The Black Queens rounded the game off in the 84th minute, substitute Firdaus Yakubu met a cross from Evelyn Badu to make 4-0 on the day and 7-0 on aggregate.
Ghana progress to the second round of the qualifiers, where they’ll face Benin who were 5-4 aggregate winners against Guinea Bissau. The second round games will be played between 23–31 October 2023.
