The fifth round of games for the Group stages of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League were played across Europe from Tuesday to Thursday.

A lot of Ghanaian players were involved with their various clubs in the three competitions.

Mohammed Kudus played 32 minutes for Ajax in a 3-0 home defeat to Liverpool. The defeat means the Dutch Champions bow out of the Champions League.

Denis Odoi featured for Club Brugge in a 4-0 home defeat to Porto. Kamal Sowah wasn’t in action due to suspension.

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku came in the 71st minute for Sporting Lisbon in a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspurs.

UEFA Europa League

Thomas Partey came on in the second half for Arsenal a 2-0 defeat to PSV Eindhoven.

Kamaldeen Sulemana came on in the final minutes for Stade Rennais as they drew a 3 goal lead to draw 3-3 against Fenerbahce.

Bernard Tekpetey played 90 minutes for Ludogorets Razgrad in a 1-0 home defeat to Real Betis.

Malik Abubakar came on in the second half for Helsinki and provided an assist in a 2-1 defeat to AS Roma.

Emmanuel Lomotey didn’t feature for Malmo FF against Royale Union-Gilloise due to a suspension.

Patrick Kpozo and Mudasiru Salifu featured for Sheriff Tiraspol in a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United. Razak Abalora didn’t make the match day squad.

Kwabena Owusu lasted the entire duration for Qarabag in a 2-1 defeat to Nantes.

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh played 64 minutes for Freiburg in their 1-1 draw against Olympiacos.

Osman Bukari provided 2 assists for Red Star Belgrade in a 2-1 victory against Trabzonspor. Ibrahim Mustafa was also in action for Red Star Belgrade.

Europa Conference League

Alfred Duncan was an unused sub for Fiorentina in their 2-1 comeback win against Basaksehir.

Majeed Ashimeru saw 29 minutes of action for RSC Anderlecht in their 2-2 draw against FCSB.

Eugene Ansah played 72 minutes for Hapoel Be’er Sheva in a 2-2 draw against Villarreal.

Elisha Owusu didn’t make the match-day squad for Gent in the 1-1 draw against Shamrock Rovers.

Nana Boateng featured for CFR Cluj in their 3-0 defeat to Sivasspor. Emmanuel Yeboah didn’t make the match-day squad for Cluj.

Kasim Adams played 90 minutes FC Basel in their 2-1 victory against Zalgiris. Francis Kyeremeh provided an assist for Zalgiris.
