Offinso Accident: A youngster’s dream of playing for Real Madrid and becoming the next Modric taken away by death

On Saturday evening, the news broke that eight juvenile footballers playing for a team named African Vision FC and based in Offinso have lost their lives in a ghastly car accident on the Kumasi-Offinso road.

The accident occurred on Saturday evening when the bus carrying the Juvenile footballers was heading to Offinso from Afrancho after the juvenile footballers had undergone a registration for the District Juvenile League.

Eight of the juvenile footballers have been confirmed dead so far. Six others are currently in critical condition at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, with the remaining twenty who sustained minor injuries treated and discharged from St. Patrick Hospital and Namong SDA Hospitals in Offinso.

The news has left the entire country dejected, because not only were lives lost, dreams were also lost.

In a trending video, one of the deceased kids named Jamel could be seen revealing his dream to play for Real Madrid.

The burgeoning midfielder went on to mention great midfielders he will like to emulate, with 2019 Ballon D’or winner Luka Modric being the salient.

But Jamel did not live long to see his dreams come to reality, his life and his dreams were taken away by the cold hands of death.
